We have been busy!  This summer is FLYING by, and I can’t believe it is coming to and end!  Our weekdays have been packed full with fun – playdates with friends, trips to Knotts/Disneyland, Gymboree, playing outside, going to the fair, and more!  Darby’s favorite activity I would have to guess is just playing with her friends.  It is so cute to see them interact.  At Gymboree she loves getting tackled by Jackson.  He showers her with kisses and hugs and they chase each other around squealing. It’s adorable! She loves pal-ing around with her 2 buddies Scarlett and Ivy.  They play so wonderfully together. There is RARELY a dispute, it’s usually just all giggles and fun.  Together, those 3 are VERY skilled at making a mess, but they have a great time and that’s what counts!  Darby’s shares a love of pirates with her other little friend Aubree.  Another cute pair! They too play wonderfully together and love the same things!

Here are a few pictures of Darby having fun with her friends!

Eating cupcakes: Aubree, nice and neat. Darby, another story!

Last week we went over to Aubree’s house for a playdate. The girls had a great time and Darby got to take home a Dr. Seuss watercolor painting book!  She had never painted before and loves it! It’s a great activity, not sure why I didn’t think of watercolors! They clean up so easily and anything that keeps her busy for a bit is nice! Here’s a little video I took last night of Darby enjoying painting a picture.

The good news is: there is more fun with friends to come before the summer is officially over!  We have a trip to Disneyland and Pretend City with Scarlett and Ivy on the calendar, Aubree’s birthday party and hopefully another play date or 2, Gymboree fun with Jackson and a family camping trip over Labor Day weekend with Jackson and his Mama and Papa too!

Our little dude, a.k.a. blueberry is just growing and kicking away these days!  I am now in my 25th week and baby has hit the ‘viability’ point!  It’s so nice to know he would have a chance (20-70% I believe) at surviving outside the womb if I were to go into preterm labor (God forbid!).  We really need to get a move on his room, once the 3rd trimester hits I’m sure time is going to fly even fastern than it has been already!

Rock On!

I took this video yesterday before Eric gave Darby her bath.  She was rockin’ out and it was way too funny not to document!  At first when she started singing this a few days ago, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where on earth she heard it.  But then driving around yesterday afternoon, it came on KidStuff radio – the channel we get in the Jeep on Sirus!  How quickly she picked up on this song is exactly the reason why we make sure we listen to music with appropriate lyrics!!

BIG Excitement!

As usual this weekend was a busy one!  The most exciting parts: Eric and I mosied on over to BabiesRus to register for our little dude!  Eric is so excited that we are having a boy (of course I am too, but I’m sure it’s every mans dream to have a son) so he was in 7th heaven scanning away all the necessities, along with a few fun things!  We have a lot of pink in this house, time to boy it up now!

The MOST exciting part was that Darby said…

Bye-bye to her crib!

Helloooooo BIG GIRL BED!

To help make the whole “new bed” experience more exciting, we decided that since Darby already had adorable bedding, we would buy a couple new pillow cases and a new nightie!  It did the trick!

I realize it looks a little small!  I should have bought a 3t size, but they only had the one she wanted in 2t.  Our little Amazon is just growing too fast! She was wearing a 4t shirt the other day and it fit perfectly!

I knew it wouldn’t be smooth sailing, but we had hoped for it!  It took an hour of her getting up and us laying her back down before she stayed in bed and fell asleep.  The funniest part was that she would get up and knock on the inside of her door to get our attention!  We have a video baby monitor (something I couldn’t possibly live without!) so we would know exactly when she was up and would go in there, without talking to her and lay her down.  There were a few exceptions of course, its hard not to talk to her when she is being so cute, asking you to lay down in bed with her!

Before we went to bed at 10:30 I glanced at the monitor to check that all was well.. and this is what I saw:

Not sure if she fell out or crawled out and ended up on the floor, but it gave us a good chuckle.  I went in, took a picture of course, then put her back into her bed and there she stayed until 7:30 this morning!  I couldn’t believe she slept all night without falling out again or getting up!  I’m not holding my breath, I know her getting used to her new bed is far from over.  They say 10 times to create a habit, so we have 9 more to go!  We will see how the first nap time in the new bed goes!

I just can’t believe Darby is out of her crib and getting to be such a big girl! Next stop, saying “goodbye” to the pacifier (or ‘sassy’ as she calls it!) and “goodbye” to diapers!  Not sure the order of that one, we’ve been slowly making small strides with the potty, but I don’t know how quick I want to try to switch another thing in her sleep routine after we just changed her bed out! No matter what, it will all happen eventually!

Just like last summer, Darby’s cousin Miles was in town visiting for the last few weeks!  They had a great time pal-ing around and playing together.  Miles loves Darby to bits, and Darby just adored Miles too!  It was so cute.
