Darby’s Future Career?

The other day Darby had way too much fun playing with some stamps.  By the time she was finished, she had me wondering if she would grow up to be a Hollywood make-up artist.  She certainly has the “wounded” look down! Don’t you agree?

One thing is for sure: Darby certainly knows how to have a good time… and make a mess! But making a mess is part of being a kid.  It’s also part of her daily activities.  You think her face is a mess after playing with stamps? You should see her ROOM after she plays in it.  🙂

3 Months Old!

Last week Finn turned 3 months old!  Time is flying. I feel like I say that a lot, but it’s just so true!  As a 3 month old, Finn is starting to grow out of his colic (fingers crossed!).  He has good days and bad days, but all in all it seems like there is less crying and more smiles. He is getting to be quite a giggly and smiley little baby now. Thank goodness! He is also growing out of most of his clothes!

Did I mention that he is getting so big? He IS!  He loves to lay on his Baby Einstein activity mat (thanks Redondo Beach Santa!) and look/talk to the bird, star and himself – there’s a mirror.  Just last night (Sunday March 20th) he has really started trying to roll over from back to tummy.  Speaking of tummy.. he HATES tummy time! I try everyday to get him to do some tummy time but he just gets SO mad.  Maybe that is because of the colic – they say its stomach cramps/aches – so it kind of makes sense.  Even with the lack of tummy time, he is so strong.  He loves to stand and he holds his head up so well.

On his 3 month birthday (March 15) we went to Disneyland for a few hours with my Mom (Grammy Cookie).  It was his very first trip to Disneyland, and all in all he did ok.  Once we got in the park our first stop was the Baby Care Center for a diaper change, milk snack and a complementary pin! After that, his first ride was It’s A Small World and well… he fell asleep – in my Ergo carrier which he LOVES.  He also slept through the Tiki Room.  It was so packed and crowded that’s all we did, but with 2 kids it was enough for now! We will be back plenty!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

So I bought some fun props from the dollar section at Target – a leprechaun hat, green necklaces and 2 different funny headbands – HOPING to do a fun photo shoot with my kids so I could post some cute pictures for St. Patty’s Day.  Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t have high hopes for this photo shoot.  Darby doesn’t sit still anymore and she would rather make silly faces then smile – even when I ask her to smile like a princess!  The props were pretty much completely useless because no one would have a thing to do with them.  I couldn’t even get Darby to keep the necklaces on! Needless to say, I got a lot of pictures with a good view of right up Darby’s nose.. and of course Finn wasn’t having it either!

Happy Bubba

The paparazzi is definitely slacking these days.  When Darby was Finn’s age I’d already snapped hundreds of pictures and had dozens of photo shoots with her and it was so much fun.  This time around not only am I lacking the time to take loads of pictures, but my little subject isn’t very cooperative with smiles!  We are still crossing our fingers that Mister Colic will be cured in a few weeks. 12 more days until he is 3 months old and that is when “they” say colic clears up.  Here’s to hoping its true! Just in case it isn’t, we ordered a natural remedy called “Colic Calm” on a co-worker of Eric’s recommendation.  It should be here any day… it can’t get here quick enough!

Just like I was able to catch him in a good mood and take that video a couple of days ago, (didn’t it just melt you to see him giggling!) I was able to snap a few pictures two weeks ago during a happy moment too.  I finally got them uploaded to my laptop today and since I have a few minutes while (amazingly enough) BOTH kids nap – I’m not going to put off sharing 2 of my favorites:

One For The Books!

While still colicky, Finn does have some good moments.  While they have been few and far between (he is fussing as I speed post this!), yesterday morning we shared a nice “happy” moment during a diaper change.  I HAD to run and get the video camera to document it forever!
